Picking the date
When picking the dates in Excel documents, you may accidentaly make a mistake. The ideal way to avoid this is to use the Date Picker tool. For now, there is no simple solution within the application itself that can be used for this purpose, but there is a simple add-in available that can help with the date selection process.
To install this add-in, go to the Home ribbon, and at the end of it you will see the Add-Ins option. Run this option. Enter the word “date” in the search field and you will see “Mini Calendar and Date Picker” in the list of found solutions.
Click on Add. A date selection control will appear on the screen.
Select the cell in a worksheet that contains the date, then find the new date you want to select in the date picker control. After clicking on it, a warning will appear asking if you want to change the date.
After you click OK in the date field you previously selected, a new date will appear.
At the bottom of the control that displays the calendar, you can find a few more options. You can use them to change its size, calendar settings, mark specific dates, etc.
