Data model

Data model is used to add and connect tables in a whole, in order to retrieve the data needed for reporting. This is a pseudo-base, part of Excel document. By adding a table into the Model data are automatically compressed; later, when we need them for reporting, they are decompressed and used as a reporting dimension in the pivot table. Data model is basis for use of “Power” technologies, i.e. “self-service” business intelligence tools.

Corporate reports

Working in large companies, especially multinational corporations, often involves periodically sending the standardized Excel reports that are intended to provide management with information about the business. Creating Pivot tables

Pivot tables (Pivot table reports) are a tool for creating interactive reports based on the range of selected data or structured tables. Columns from source tables are used as reporting dimensions by aggregation of data (measures) or using them to analyze in rows, columns, as filters (dimensions) … Once made, the Pivot tables are easily changed by adding or removing dimensions, giving us more different look at the unique original dataset.
