Change of comment’s appearance
Comments are graphic objects and therefore we can change their appearance. Why should we do it? Perhaps to be original, that the reports we made look different from the others? In this case, we can change the form of comments. And then, we can change the style of the text in the comment or the color of its background. Let’s show you how to comment with certain comments on certain parts of the report!
We add comments, as we mentioned earlier, from the Review ribbon by choosing New Comment. A comment box appears in the header of the name of the “commentator” taken from the Excel settings. The name is thick (“bold”), and it would be good to leave it that way, although you can change it at any time. Below we enter the text of comments that, like any other text, we can make it bold, italics, underlined…
Clicking with the right mouse button on the object in which the comment is located will open the context menu. By choosing Format Comment, you enter a well-known, dialog box called Format Cells in which we can change the color of the frame, the background color, or the text in the comment, as well as some other elements of the style of its display.
To change the shape of the commenter, we need to add the Change Shape option. We can add it to one of the ribbons, if we think that we will often use it, or in Quick Access Toolbar. Both are done by running a general dialog with options that are in the system settings.
When we add this option, it is enough to select the desired comment, run it, and change the form used to display its frame. With a bit of additional creativity, you can get a very effective look of comments in your reports.
