Statistical analysis of wages

In one of the earlier „recipes“ I briefly described the statistical functions in Excel. My knowledge of statistics is quite modest (one of these days will probably take some additional lessons to improve my knowledge). However, I would like to dedicate one article to this area. On a practical case, the analysis of wages in a small company, I’ll show you how you can use these functions to make you come up with some interesting conclusions.

Forecast sheet

Forecast Sheet is an option used to calculate trends using specific forecasting functions. This is the Excel 2016 novelty. Based on the data provided for the appropriate time period, future values are forecasted and the lower and upper confidence interval is calculated. Some people use to say: “Whatta heck do ya want”? In a translation into Excel, this means “Tell me what you want to do”. All of you who have been using Excel for a long time recall a “animated clip”, a personal assistant to whom you could ask a question about working in an application. She has long retire, and since the 2016 version, an integral part of the user interface has become a field in which you can enter the term, after which Excel will offer you a solution for your problem.

Document templates

Excel has been here for more than 20 years. Although it can not be said that in its world “there is nothing new in the sky,” numerous problems that have been encountered by the rich Excel community, since its inception, have long been solved, and solutions can be downloaded from the Internet in the form of templates. In this text, we will say a word-two on how to find the right template for generating a document that solves the problem.

Ranks

One of the first things you learned in Excel were the functions for determining the maximum (MAX) and minimum (MIN) of a range. Also, sorting a range can easily determine the order of its members, from the smallest to the largest or in the opposite direction. But, since it’s not convenient to manually count the members’ ranking, we can use one of the Excel ranking functions.
