Using themes

Subject of one of the previous posts was using styles in Excel. Themes can be viewed as their upgrade that allows us to define color palettes, fonts and effects. The most useful is, I think, the ability to change color palettes. This option allows you to adjust completely different colors than usual in the color or font colors of the font formatting menus. Let’s explain how this is done.

00022-1After installation, Excel brings a large number of themes by choosing several important elements of the work environment, such as: colors, fonts and effects. We can consider each theme as a special combination of these three elements. We can find options for manipulating themes in the Page Layout ribbon. Under the colors we mean color palettes. When, for example, we format the color of the cell or the background color of a cell by selecting this option, a color palette will appear on the screen. By selecting a different theme or choosing a different palette, this initial color palette can be changed according to our wishes. The color palette can become the peculiarity of our company’s reporting. By changing the font, the default font of the workbook changes, and the effects are changed by changing the effects. By clicking on the Themes option, in addition to selecting a theme, it is also possible to capture the newly created theme by changing the colors, fonts or effects. It is also possible to search for previously recorded topics on your computer.
