Managing channels

Once we have created a channel, we can manage it using the options from the context menu of the channel or by opening that same menu in the Channels tab within the Manage team option. The Channel notifications menu is used to set notifications of channel announcements. The Pin option allows us to pin the channel to the top of the list, as we would with chat. Once pinned, the channel can be returned to the list by selecting the Unpin option. The Hide option is used to hide channels, and Unhide to show them again within the list.

When creating a channel, it automatically receives an e-mail address. Clicking on Get e-mail address will open a window showing that address, and Get link to channel will show a link to the channel that we can use to invite new members. The Edit this channel option allows you to change the name or description of the channel, and the Delete option is used to delete the channel. When you delete a channel, it will still exist in the list of deleted channels. To permanently remove it, you must first delete the folder of the same name on the SharePoint Online portal, and then start the procedure for deleting Teams channels.
