Change of comment’s appearance

Comments are graphic objects and therefore we can change their appearance. Why should we do it? Perhaps to be original, that the reports we made look different from the others? In this case, we can change the form of comments. And then, we can change the style of the text in the comment or the color of its background. Let’s show you how to comment with certain comments on certain parts of the report!

Using comments

More people working together on one document is a common practice. Sometimes it is necessary to leave a comment for harmonization of work with other users or easier understanding of the data and procedures during the budget creation. The comment should be visible, include the name of the person who commented on content and can, if necessary, be easily removed from the screen or not printed along with the data in the tables. Welcome to the world of Excel comments!

Paste Special

Each user of the Windows operating system should be familiar with the Cut, Copy and Paste commands. In addition to cropping, copying, and pasting content, Excel also offers “advanced paste“ options that are enabled with Paste Special option. With it, we can choose whether we only copy a content, format, content and format, or something else. The many options it offers make it easy to format existing tables.

Styles

Excel styles are a useful way to define certain features of cell content formatting and give them a name, so that we can later use them more easily to format similar tables. For example, a style with the title “Header” can be used to format the headers of all the tables we make. Once saved style can be applied multiple times, and the subsequent change of style automatically changes and the formatting characteristics of all the cells in which the style is applied.

Naming cells and cell ranges

Although each cell has its own address, so we know how to find the data it contains, sometimes it would be good if we can access the cell using the term that determines its contents more closely. With this purpose, Excel has the ability to designate a cell or group of cells. The names thus created can be used as operands in formulas, function arguments, or to enable us to selectively select a cell or group of cells.
