Calculating the distance

How to calculate distance between the two places on the map? The simplest way is by using the formula for calculating the haversine, which for the given coordinates returns the distance of the points on the sphere. However, this is the air distance. If you are planning to take off on the road, you are surely interested in getting from point A to point B by traffic. In the following text I will show you how to use Google Maps to calculate distance.

Box&Whisker

Box & Whisker charts are used for a statistical analysis of the data set. They come along with Excel 2016, and serve to show the statistical distribution of data according to quartiles, emphasizing the mean, maximum and minimum values. In business, they can be used, for example, to analyze the turnover of an item byclass or sales group. Then we analyze the value distribution, based on which we can make conclusions about future values.

Sunburst

Sunburst is another new chart brought to us with Excel 2016. It is suitable for displaying sales values (traffic, earnings, merchandise, etc.) according to periods, arranged by hierarchies such as: years, quarters, months, days … It reminiscent of a Doughnut Chart, because the width of the ring shows the value that we want to present. It differs in showing several rings, each corresponding to one of the hierarchies.

Treemap

Treemap is a new chart that comes with Excel 2016, and is used for hierarchical value display in a decreasing order. The values are represented by rectangles, where the largest rectangle represents the largest value, and to the right of it are a smaller rectangles with lower values. This type of chart is convenient to track in the city we have the best turnover, or which item brings the highest revenue …

Histogram

Histogram is a diagram that is used for the graphical presentation of the statistical distribution of  values. It consists of columns, arranged in descending order, which represent the frequency of their repetition. Excel 2016 provides the ability to create two types of charts: Histogram and Pareto. Pareto differs in that it is a combination of two charts: columns and lines. Columns show values, and the line illustrates their cumulative growth.
