Filtering charts

Filtering affects the appearance of a report by setting certain criteria. If we create a pivot chart, it will be formed based on the data from the pivot table. If we change something in it, the chart will also change. Is this possible to do in traditional Excel reports? Yes, if you have an Office 2021 or Office 365 subscription, with the new XLOOKUP function. This is a simple method by which you can get effective reports.

Controls

Excel offers you to add controls to documents, the same elements that you can find in windows and dialog boxes, and they enable choosing values, checking options, adding labels, choosing from list objects… Adding control to a worksheet increases interactivity between user and reports. In this way, you can easily create different polls and save the results in a form suitable for further processing.

Validation of entered data

When entering the parameters of a calculation, it is useful when we can check that the correct values are entered. This type of control serves to check whether a good type of data is entered, whether the values are in the reference range, and can be used to help when entering data into a table. In this way, Excel can also be used as a tool for completing a questionnaire with predefined answers.
